The third annual KARE for Kids Motorcycle Poker Run raised $2015 from the 85 bike entries, riders and raffle drawings. The approximately 51 mile ride started at Longhorn Steakhouse in Dawsonville, ventured north to Dahlonega and ended at the Dawsonville Pool Room for lunch. One playing card was drawn at each of the five stops to create a poker hand with the top three hands winning cash.
Registration and the Run began at Longhorn Steakhouse where coffee & biscuits were provided by Chick-Fil-A in Dawsonville. The next three stops, Endless Cycle, Riders Hill and Custom Cycles, are cycle shops located around Dahlonega. Lunch, raffle drawings and announcement of winners were held at the final stop, Dawsonville Pool Room.
The odds were favorable to recoup the entry fees of $20 per bike and $10 per rider by having the best poker hand. The winners were:
1st Place ~ $100 - Karen Chenoweth - Three Queens, nine high card
2nd Place ~ $75 - Satory - Three Queens, seven high card
3rd Place - $50 - Sissy Cowart - Three Jacks
