ENROLL NOW FOR FALL 2015 DAWSON COUNTY CITIZENS’ GOVERNMENT ACADEMY
8/24/2015 Do you want to know how your government works? Citizens are invited to meet their government "in person" and go behind the scenes of Dawson County’s many departments at the 2015 Citizens’ Government Academy.
The Citizens' Government Academy is a FREE ten-week course designed to provide an in-depth look at the diverse activities of Dawson County government. This award-winning program, featured in Georgia Trend magazine, offers sessions on emergency services, finance, parks and recreation, planning and zoning, law enforcement, court systems, special projects, and many other vital community services.
Sessions will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:30pm beginning September 8th through November 10th. Academy “graduates” will be recognized at the Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, November 19th at 6:00pm. A reception will follow.
Sessions will be held in various locations throughout the community in order to expose citizens to the many different offices of Dawson County government.
