Employees and Job Seekers Enhance your portfolio by adding a Georgia Work Ready Certificate to your resume and job qualifications Assessments are administered by the Technical College System of Georgia at no charge to you. Local Testing Place: Lanier Technical College – Dawson Campus – 89 Tiger Circle, Dawsonville To schedule your free online assessment, go to www.laniertech.edu – look for the Work Ready logo and select the date and time you wish to take the assessment. For more information and sample questions, visit: www.gaworkready.org Assessments are conducted in three skills areas: Reading for Information ~ Locating Information ~ Mathematics Certificates are awarded on four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum EMPLOYED? Beginning May 2010, Dawson County adults (age 18+) who are employed and successfully earn a certificate will be awarded a $50 incentive card from Kroger or Wal-Mart. To claim your card, bring proof of Dawson County residency along with proof of your certificate to the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce – 292 Highway 400 North (the building is just north of Ryan’s Restaurant). Please note: Those who have already received gift cards earlier in the program are not eligible. This offer expires December 31, 2010 or when funds are depleted, whichever happens first and is subject to change at any time. UNEMPLOYED? Eligible unemployed Georgians who earn a WR certificate may claim a $100 Visa card to help with job search expenses. A $200 Visa card to help with job search expenses may be claimed by any eligible unemployed Georgian who scores at the Platinum level, or any eligible unemployed Georgian who scores a Bronze, Silver or Gold and then improves their competency by one or more levels. Thus, any eligible unemployed Georgia may qualify for up to $300 in Visa cards! Visa card use is restricted to job search expenses such as gasoline, clothing, shoes, haircut, office supplies, etc. Those who have already received Visa cards earlier in the program are not eligible. www.begaworkready.org.
